Management professor Will Mitchell won the Bank of America Faculty Award, the school’s highest faculty honor.

Faculty and staff appointments

Leslie Marx, associate professor of economics, appointed to serve one year as Chief Economist for the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C.

Professor Will Mitchell named Deputy Dean and accounting professor Jennifer Francis named associate dean for faculty.

Major gifts

Fuqua ended fiscal year 2005-06 with a fundraising total of approximately $12 million. Major new commitments include:

  • $5 million from Dean Douglas T. and Josie Breeden to support programs
  • $1 million from Jack O. (BH '69 & T '67) and Barbara T. Bovender to establish a scholarship program in Fuqua's Health Sector Management program
  • $1 million from HCA, Inc. to support programs
  • $1 million from Aubrey K. (T '81) and Kathleen B. (T '80) McClendon to support programs
  • $500,000 gift from the F. M. Kirby Foundation and an additional $500,000 commitment to support The Fuqua School of Business
  • $410,000 from the International Research and Exchanges Board Inc. to support educational programs
