HighlightsThe Bostock Library and the von der Heyden Pavilion, a combined 126,755 square feet, opened as additions to the William R. Perkins Library. The Duke University Libraries hosted the 2006 NC Festival of the Book in partnership with North Carolina Central University and the libraries at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. More than 11,000 people attended more than 40 free events held April 24-29 at Duke and in Durham. With sponsorship from the PepsiCo Foundation, the Duke University Libraries is continuing its longstanding K-12 technology mentorship program in the Durham public schools. In October 2005 the Duke University Libraries hosted “Sustaining Humanities Scholarship in the Digital Age,” a conference that explored the challenges of preserving long-term access to digital resources for humanities scholarship. Awards and recognitionThe Bostock Library received an award of merit from the Durham City-County Appearance Commission. The Duke University Libraries and Dartmouth College received a planning grant from The Andrew W.
